Five Days Short Term Course entitled “AutoCAD for Engineers” was organized by Department of Civil Engineering of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research Chandigarh. In this Short Term Course, various important things from important command to sketching and 3D modelling were described in detail.
On first day of the program, the brief description of the AutoCAD software and its important sketching commands and functions like Line, Circle and Rectangle etc. is given and different ways to draft each of them. Two different methods were drafting in absolute coordinates as well as in relative coordinates.
Then on the following days the command to modify the sketches, command like, Mirror, trim, Expand, Break etc. are described. These commands are much useful to draft complicated 2D sketches. The participant practiced on few given assignment by NITTTR Chandigarh. The participant showed very much interest in doing the assignments.
On later days, they showed how to draft much more assignments using more useful and complicated commands. And further the participants practiced on almost 15 to 20 practice assignments. Further many more commands like Array, Rectangular array, polar array etc. helped participant to draft architectural plans as well.
On the last day it was shown how to draft the 3d modelling and commands like EXTRUDE, PRESSPULL, LOFT etc. and gave few assignments to the participants for practice. There were many few tutorials to change planes on a 3d model by changing the position of UCS.
