ICT BASED PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY NITTTR CHANDIGARH on SKILL INDIA at REMOTE CENTRE RAJKIYA ENGINEERING COLLEGE BANDA 27/02/2017 TO 03/03/2017

Five Days Short Term Course entitled “Skill India” was organized by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research Chandigarh. It was an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) based Short Term Course. Rajkiya Engineering College Banda was chosen as Remote center for the above mentioned Programme.

The Programme was marks by various eminent speakers of the country. Mr. Amit Goyal in his address, talked about challenges, myths and reality of skill India. He also described how to increase the skill focus of unemployed youth. Further he talked about present Indian employment scenario. In his lecture, he described about the effort made Government of India (GOI) to increase the number of trained personnel across the country so that they might get job not only in our country but also globally.

On the first day of afternoon session, Mr. Jasmer Singh Saini in his address talked about National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). He further described about vocational Education Courses run by various polytechnic and ITI get the certification for school/college droppers. Further he talked about the funds given by the Government of India for such courses and the various field of courses.

The Director of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Chandigarh Dr. T.N Giri in address described about the role of NIOS in skill development. Further Mr. Amit Goyal in his address talked about various schemes of skill development with special emphasis on Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). On the second day of afternoon session Mr. Ajay Godara, a startup initiator of NITTTR chandigarh talked about the role of start in skill india.

Mr. Sanjeev Bansal, Director of Focal Skill, shared his experience with Focal Skill.Focal Skill Development Pvt. Ltd has been constituted with the objective of introducing professional and systematic approach of skill development in the Skill Development Sector using an innovative and collaborative approach. Further Mr. Jasmer Singh Saini in his address talked about common norms for skill training. In afternoon session, Mr. Bhushan K Sharma, Principal, GGDSD College, Chandigarh, did a case study for skill development in GGDSD College Chandigarh.

In the first session of 2nd Mar, Prof. U. N. Roy did a case study for skill development programmes. He talked about the experience of CDTP (Community development through polytechnic) scheme. Further in his talked about the area of intervention like rural sanitation, drinking water, water pollution check and agriculture etc. He also given the statistics that how the polytechnics in northern India are performing in terms of skill development and job providing to such skilled personnel. In the next session, Mr Prabal Bhardwaj about the alignment of skill courses to NSQF. In afternoon session, a panel discussion was done among Mr. Jasmer Singh Saini, Mr Prabal Bhardwaj and Dr. Bajwa.

On the 3rd March Dr. Bajwa delivered a lecture on Sector Skill Council and their on skill development. In the next session of the same day Mr. K. K.Agnihotri done a case study of implementation of NSQF in school education in Haryana. In afternoon session a group discussion was organized among various remote centers and further the Valedictory Session is concluded.
