DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED SCIENCE & HUMANITIES
About the Department
The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is continuing from the date of its inception with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education. The department teaches the subjects of Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics and Environment etc. in the B. Tech. programs. There are 7 well qualified and experienced faculty members whose services are available to the department.
Objective
A strong high-rise building can be built only on a strong foundation, which signifies the importance of the Department of Applied Sciences. The important objective of the Department is to prepare and train the first year B. Tech students in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Communication skills with an applied approach.
Vision
We will apply our unique values to undergraduate program in technology, service, and applied science, preparing individuals to thrive in and contribute to an ever-changing global society.
Mission
- Student-centered teaching that emphasizes: a) innovative, engaging, and challenging coursework; b) intellectually vibrant instruction; c) project-based learning; d) practical team interactions; e) student-industry cooperative experiences
- Proactive and adaptive service systems that provide students with a flexible yet solid learning infrastructure.
- The Department is carrying a mission to create and disseminate knowledge and tools in intellectual areas at the interfaces between areas of engineering and other core areas of Applied Sciences and Humanities.
Department have following Laboratory
Physics Laboratory Department has well equipped Physics laboratory for B.Tech students. The Physics experiments are performed by the students in one semester. The experiments based mainly upon Optics, Electricity, Magnetism, Modern Physics and Solid State Physics which are the parts of theory syllabus. Students will be required to perform at least 12 out of 15 experiments in one semester according to UPTU curriculum.
Chemistry The chemistry laboratory provides the opportunities to the students to learn the practical concepts of Chemistry. The Chemistry experiments are performed by the students in one semester. The experiments based mainly upon organic and inorganic chemistry which are the parts of theory syllabus. Students will be required to perform at least 8 out of 10 experiments in one semester according to UPTU curriculum.
